Stoney Point, Chatsworth, CA
In Southern California, the month of January has some absolutely beautiful days and last Monday was a perfect example of it. I packed up my art supplies and met a few other artists to paint at the base of Stoney Point where we enjoyed plein air painting and watched rock climbers and hikers.
Well done, good atmospheric sketch. The big conflict I find in such a situation, as when out in the Scottish hills (apart from the demands of weather and current short day length) is that I am more drawn to the climbing than the desire to paint in those conditions. I’d want to be up there exploring and engaging with the rocks physically, I may write a blog post about this soon, it’s an aspect of my current struggles with my painting.

Agreed! I was so distracted because I felt drawn to explore but I had to come away from the day there with at least one sketch😉. Thank you for commenting and your kind words🎨
